Home Security & Fraud Information

While the internet provides great convenience and access, it also comes with its share of dangers to consumers. Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company wants to help you be aware of online threats to your personal and account information.

Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company  will never contact you to ask for your Social Security number, debit card number or PIN number to verify your identity. Be aware when providing your debit card information, and contact Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company immediately if you think your account has been compromised or your debit card has been stolen.

Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company has partnered with SHAZAM, our electronic funds transfer provider, to implement a system called SHAZAM Falcon. This system monitors for suspicious activity. If any is detected, you will be contacted by a SHAZAM fraud specialist on our behalf to verify any suspicious transactions. This means we need to have updated contact information for you and everyone in your household.

We also encourage you to take a few minutes and look through these online resources to learn how to prevent phishing scams, identity theft and breaches of online banking security.

Please feel free to contact Mount Vernon Bank & Trust Company with any questions or concerns over these or any other security-related topics.
